Bedeyia is a k-12 American School also offering the IB Diploma Programme. The school started in 2009 in New Cairo and graduated its first class in 2019. The school is situated in New Cairo in a high socio-economical district. Students and staff mainly come from the same area. They are mostly Egyptians with Arabic as a mother tongue. English is the second language of most of them yet with very high proficiency and few of them have French as their second language.

At BIS, we are proud to offer a robust academic program centered around the American Diploma, accredited by Cognia. Our curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation across core subjects, preparing students thoroughly for university studies and beyond. We follow the Common Core Standards in English and Math, ensuring consistency and depth in literacy and numeracy skills. In Sciences, we utilize the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which emphasize inquiry-based learning, and the AERO standards in Social Studies, offering a comprehensive understanding of historical and cultural contexts.

Our high school curriculum includes Advanced Placement (AP) courses in both sciences and humanities, providing students with the opportunity to engage in college-level work, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare for the rigor of university studies. In addition, we offer a variety of courses tailored to meet the diverse requirements of universities, ensuring that each student can follow a path that aligns with their academic goals.

To support our students in meeting international standards, we prepare them for a range of standardized tests, including the ACT, EST, AP exams, as well as language certifications such as ILETS in English Language, DELF for French and FIT for German. Our program also includes MAP testing to help us track and support each student’s growth. Through these initiatives, we are committed to equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and resilience they need to succeed in university and beyond.
