At BIS, DP students are privelaged to graduate with a dual Diploma; American Diploma and IB Diploma.
Teaching and Learning in the IB
An IB education empowers young people for a lifetime of learning,
independently and in collaboration with others.
It prepares a community of learners to engage with global
challenges through inquiry, action and reflection.
• The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.
• Through the DP core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.
The IB uses both external and internal assessment in the DP.
• 6 DP Subjects (7 points EACH ): 42 points
• Extra Points (TOK, CAS, and EE): 3 pts
Total Possible: 45 points
• Minimum Points required = 24 points
