The math program is a comprehensive curriculum that combines the most powerful elements of differentiated instruction with the best applications and practice. The program encourages students to share methods, tackle ideas through hands-on activities, and to work collaboratively on projects using different learning tools. The flexible material and resources of the program meet a wide range of teaching and learning needs. It provides re-teaching, practice and challenging material to allow students reach their highest potentials. Instructional material is with substantial emphasis on developing math vocabulary, key concepts and problem-solving strategies. Students explore mathematical concepts in meaningful ways and make connections to real life experiences. They are encouraged to realize that more than one method can be used to reach an answer. They are given opportunities to share their methods orally using conceptual language and through proof drawings and mathematical ideas that make sense to them. Comprehensive test preparation is an integral part of the program and the assessment guides provide organizational and management tools to help teachers discover how students think and what they know. Information Technology is a fundamental part of the classroom experience and is integrated within all areas of the program.
