1.         What is the mission & vision of the school?

-        Our Mission 
We seek a safe and distinguished educational environment for every member of the school community, carefully considering the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual domains. We aim to guide our students to take pride in their beliefs, values and heritage, achieve excellence in areas of individual potentials, and develop into life-long learners ready to take an active part towards a rapidly changing world.
Our Vision

2.         When was Bedayia International School established?

-         In 2008 to be launched in the academic year 2009/2010.

        

3.         Who are the owners of the school?

-         Al-Rabbat Education Services Company. The company is established by Dr. Ahmad Ghaloush former Dean of the "Islamic Daawa College" of "Al-Azhar University".

 

4.         Which geographical areas does the school serve?

-         The school is in the Banafseeg area, First Settlement, New Cairo district which is central to all Cairo and Giza it is within reach from Heliopolis, Nasr City, Mohandeseen, New Cairo, Rehab, Maadi, Helwan, Pyramids area, Manial, Dokki, and down town central Cairo.

 

5.         Are there plans for other schools and locations in the near future?

-         No, not for the time being.

 

6.         What is the campus comprised of?

-         We have a very impressive 16,000 sq.m campus which will be completed in several phases:
Phase 1 (2009/2010):
KG/ Elementary Building with:
-         Library
-         Multi-purpose hall
-         Prayer rooms
-         Computer lab
-         KG/Elementary playground
-         Soccer field 
Phase 2 (2011/2012):
-         Administration building
-         Outdoor basketball/volleyball courts

7.         What kind of accreditation does the school have?

-         The school is a member of NAAS, the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools applying for a provisional and final accreditation in the year 2010 and 2011.

 

8.         What is special about Bedayia? Why would I enroll my child there?

-         The school is under NAAS supervision that offers an American curriculum in an Islamic setting.

 

9.         Why should I move my child from his/her school to this school?

-         The school is a unique Islamic school in an American International system as it provides a strong Arabic and Islamic studies curricula with international standards of education using the latest educational theories and methodologies.

 

10.       Why would I enroll my child in an Islamic American school?

-         The globalization and the high technical communications around the world calls for two approaches; a) to offer the new generation effective updated education, b) to develop their Muslim identity so that they are proud of who they are; and are able to make the right choices in accordance to their beliefs and Shareeah.

 

11.       Do you follow international standards or Islamic standards?

-         To offer our students the best education, we follow the Islamic standards which aim to build a strong knowledgeable believer. We also use American International Curricula that does not create any conflicts with our Islamic identity.

 

12.       What is the difference between Bedayia International School and other American International Schools?

-         The school is seeking progressive excellence in both areas of Islamic Studies, Arabic Curriculum Language Arts and Scientific Knowledge.

-         Co-education for grades K-4, single gender grades 5-12 with shared facilities on different schedules.

-         Buses for girls and co-education grades K-12, buses for boys alone for grades 5-12

 

13.       What is the Arabic and Social Studies program you offer?

-         Egyptian Ministry of Education Arabic curricula, enhanced by international Arabic language programs and using up-to-date teaching equipment and tools (Abjad).

-         Egyptian Ministry of Education Social Studies curricula, enhanced by an Arab culture-oriented curricula (taught in English) in the elementary level then an international world oriented curricula in the middle and high school.

 

14.       What kind of technique or teaching methodology do you follow at school?

-         At the school, we believe in using all different educational techniques to cater for the different needs and learning styles of each student, keeping in mind not to create any conflicts between Islamic beliefs, cultural issues and the taught areas of knowledge.

 

15.       Will there be after-school activities this year?

-         No, we have a long school day and school activities are included in the school hours. This covers sports, drama and art.

 

16.       What areas does the school transport cover?

-         We will have air-conditioned buses with seat belts. The areas we cover this year are New Cairo, Rehab, Heliopolis, Nasr city, Maadi, and Mokatam.

 

17.       What will be the options of university education for my child after graduating from school?

-         Bedayia International School graduates will receive an American International diploma that allows them to join all private national or international universities in Egypt and overseas.

 

18.       I want to enroll/move my child at Bedayia International School, what should I do?

-         First set an appointment for an interview for both student and parents. Next fill an application and complete the required papers for enrollment after the school administration informs you of accepting your child.

 

19.       What are the required papers to enroll/transfer my child?

-         Student's files should contain: a birth certificate, an immunization medical record, previous school records, official transfer papers, 12 photographs (passport size).

 

20.       Who is/are the principal(s) of Bedayia International School?

-         The School Principal is Mrs. Amina Maged Ali, a competent American manager with 2 Masters Degrees, over 30 years of educational experience and a practicing Muslima.

 

21.       What are the criteria of selecting your teachers and staff?

     Our Teaching Faculty

-         Homeroom teachers are English native speaking qualified teachers

-         Native Arabic and French speakers teach language classes.

-         Role models reflecting Bedayia mission

-         Teachers and staff are specialists with experience in childhood education.

 

22.       Are all of your teachers following the traditional Islamic dress code?

-         Yes all our employees have to abide by the accepted Islamic dress code.

 

23.       Do you have teachers/staff members of different nationalities?

-         All our teachers and/or staff members are of the Muslim OMMAH whatever their born nationality is.

 

24.       What is the average number of students per class?

-         The maximum number of KG students per class is 20.

-         The maximum number of Elementary students per class is 24.

 

25.       What is the average number of teachers assigned per class?

-         In each class in KG and lower elementary (Grades: 1, 2, 3 & 4) stages there is a homeroom teacher and an assistant teacher, for every 2 classes there is an Arabic teacher and an assistant as well. In the upper elementary, preparatory and secondary stages there will be subject teachers.

 

26.       How many classes are you planning to have in 2009/2010?

What is your accepting age for different grades?

-         The school will start "INSHA'ALLAH" with:

One Nursery class (2½ - 3 years) waiting list until we get 15 students.

Two KG1 classes (3½ - 4 years)

One KG2 classes (4½ - 5 years, transferred)

One Grade 1 class (transferred)

      One Grade 2 class (transferred)

 

27.       What are your criteria for selecting students?

-         To be within the accepted age group and to successfully pass the interview and the entry "BRIGANCE:  Screening Administration Assessment" (KG and Elementary level).

 

28.       How often do you communicate with us (parents) and how?

-         An annual scholastic calendar is published to inform parents of possible weekly meetings upon appointment, quarter parent/teacher meetings, and a student organizer is also available for daily written communication with parents.

 

29.       How will I as a parent be involved the process of education of my child?

-         Parents have a major role in the education of their children, the first educational experiences of a child takes place at home. At school we need the cooperation of parents to continue with their parental role, to follow up on their children's school work without help or explanations for neither concepts nor tasks, to allow them to grow into independent learners who recognize their responsibilities and take them seriously.

 

30.       What is the Islamic Studies program in different stages?

-         A special program set by the school religion advisor to develop basic Islamic beliefs and faith.

 

31.       How long is the school day?

-         The school day starts at:

a)  7:30 a.m. and ends at 3:20 p.m. for K-4.

      b)  7:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. for Grade 5-12.

 

32.       When do you plan to open grades above Grade 2?

-         The school will grow to the high school level with the students enrolled for the academic year 2009/2010 and will continue -on an annual basis- to accept new students from nursery to grade 2 until the classes reach maximum numbers. Other grade levels will be considered when we get at least 10 applicants per grade meeting the criteria of the "BRIGANCE:  Screening Administration Assessments".

 

33.       We (the parents) are new Muslims and we want to enroll our children, is there a special program for them?
-         The school has a mission to provide all Muslims with quality education, academic excellence, and strong religious foundation. To have new Muslims join our school is an honor and an obligation to provide both children and parents with education that enables them to learn about and practice Islam following the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad
